Laser DentistryBack to services list

The benefit of having laser dentistry is that dentists may not need to use a drill or administer anaesthesia in some procedures. It allows the patient to enjoy a more relaxed dental experience. Laser procedures can be more precise. Also, lasers can reduce symptoms and healing time associated with traditional therapies. It reduces the amount of bacteria in both diseased gum tissue and in tooth cavities; and control bleeding during surgery.

Full mouth rehabilitationBack to services list

Full mouth reconstruction typically involves general or restorative dentists (performing procedures like crowns, bridges and veneers), and can incorporate dental specialists like periodontists (specializing in the gums), oral surgeons, orthodontists (specializing in tooth movements and positions) and endodontists (specializing in the tooth pulp).

A full mouth rehabilitation is done for teeth that have been lost due to decay, trauma, injury, fracture or teeth that have become severely worn as a result of long-term acid erosion (food & beverages) or even tooth grinding. Sometimes because of ongoing complaints of jaw, muscle and headache requiring adjustments to the bite (occlusion)

Dentistry for kidsBack to services list

Much like an adult, the onset of decay can lead to a multitude of problems, some relating to oral health, and some relating to overall well-being. This is why proper preventive care is so instrumental for your child, and their developing teeth.

Children, now more than ever have every opportunity to keep their smile for life. With the knowledge that we have gained in decay prevention, water fluoridation and oral hygiene, we can educate them on how to keep their teeth for longer.

Dental visits for children should begin early, around the age of three. Not only does this allow your child to become familiar with our practice but also enables our team to monitor your child’s jaw growth and development, and address any concerns well in advance

Tooth jewelleryBack to services list

The dental jewellery does not need to be pre-treated and is bonded onto the tooth in the same way as an orthodontic bracket. This ensures that the health of teeth is maintained. The tooth jewellery used and the procedure for applying it are absolutely safe! The application is a very simple 15 minute procedure. You can have it removed at any time, or simply replace it with another one. Since there is no drilling involved (it is directly bonded to the tooth surface), it doesn’t harm your teeth and is absolutely pain free!

FillersBack to services list

Filler injections are a cosmetic treatment used to smooth wrinkles or pitted scars in the skin, usually on the face. They are also used to make the lips fuller. When injected under the skin, filler raises or puffs up that area. This usually goes away over time. There are many kinds of injectable fillers.

For some fillers, your skin is first numbed with a local anaesthetic. Then a cosmetic surgeon or dermatologist uses a needle to inject the filler under the skin. A treatment session takes about 15 minutes. Some fillers are done in repeat sessions a couple of weeks apart.

DenturesBack to services list

Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. While dentures cannot replace natural teeth entirely, it takes a while getting used to it. The latest dentures that are being manufactured are natural looking and more comfortable than ever. There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. We will help you choose the type of denture that’s best for you based on whether some or all of your teeth are going to be replaced and the cost involved.

With a complete set of dentures, a flesh-colored acrylic base fits over your gums. The base of the upper denture covers the palate (the roof of your mouth), while that of the lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue. Dentures are custom-made in a dental laboratory from impressions taken of your mouth. We will determine which kind of dentures is best for you.

Gum surgeriesBack to services list

Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that infects the gum tissue causing inflammation, redness, swelling and loss of bone around the teeth. The disease begins with bacteria present in the mouth attaching to the teeth. It can affect one tooth or many. The bacteria collect and multiply, forming a bio film called dental plaque. If this plaque is left on the teeth, the adjacent gingival tissues can become inflamed, resulting in the development of gingivitis, an early form of gum disease.

Periodontal surgical treatment encompasses a variety of sophisticated plastic surgical procedures. These include techniques to repair and regenerate soft (gingival) and hard (bony) tissues and replacement of missing teeth with dental implants.

Scaling and polishingBack to services list

Sometimes brushing your teeth twice a day may just not be enough. There is something called as Scaling & Polishing that is done to remove all the traces of plaque and tartar off your teeth. Scaling is required to remove the hard tartar on your teeth which isn’t possible by simply brushing it off.

Your saliva contains calcium along with other substances which help strengthen your teeth. But the calcium tends to build up over time which is usually teeth coloured and can be mistaken as part of your teeth. It can also vary from brown to black in colour. Scaling & Polishing is done so that you can get smooth, clean and bacteria-free set of teeth. Leaving it bright and shiny giving you the confidence to smile openly!

Teeth whiteningBack to services list

Over time, your teeth can go from white to not-so-bright for a number of reasons like use of tobacco, food, drink, etc. Brushing and flossing are simple ways to keep your teeth bright, white and healthy. Teeth whitening, either restores natural tooth shade or whitens beyond natural tooth shade, depending on the definition used.

It is a common procedure in cosmetic dentistry, and a number of different techniques are used by dental professionals. If you feel that your teeth have lost its bright white color, maybe you should come see your dentist. Your smile is precious so are you teeth, get it sparkled with the help of teeth whitening.

Tooth colored fillingsBack to services list

You can repair and protect your damaged teeth or even replace unattractive metallic fillings with natural looking ones. In the past you may have got a cavity filled with a mixture or amalgam of different metals. Dentists have constantly been working to give you a better treatment as teeth are very important assets.

Nowadays, a more natural looking filling, composite resins and porcelains are used to make your teeth look natural. It is widely used by dentists all over the world. You can’t really tell the difference between tooth colored fillings and natural teeth without cavities.

Veneers, Crowns & BridgesBack to services list

A crown is a restoration that is put over the remaining part of your damaged tooth. This makes it sturdy and flexible also giving the look of a natural tooth. It is done when you have a broken or decayed tooth due to various reasons. It is also an ideal solution when you have a root filling that needs a crown to protect what is left of the tooth.

Bridges are a classic option for people who have lost a tooth or two and hate the idea of getting a denture. Bridges can be made by crowning the teeth on either side of the gap and attaching a false tooth in the middle. They are fixed in the same way as crowns and like crowns there a number of options available from all-ceramic or all-porcelain to metal and porcelain fused to metal bridges.

Bridges can also be constructed to fill gaps without crowning the adjacent teeth. These bridges cause less damage as they are chemically bonded onto sound teeth

A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain or composite material placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage. There are options to choose from, the latest no preparation veneers or traditional bonded veneers and we at Smile Factory will suggest whatever the best is for you.

Root canal treatmentBack to services list

The need for a root canal treatment or endodontic treatment arises when the pulp is inflamed or infected. A deep cavity is one of the causes for the infection. The pulp is removed and the interior portion of the tooth is cleaned with caution and disinfected. It is then packed and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Later on, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection. Millions of teeth are treated and saved with a root canal treatment.

Smile designingBack to services list

A smile makeover is as important as any makeover you decide to make for yourself like a makeover for your hair or even your wardrobe. Smile designing improves the appearance of your smile through a few cosmetic dentistry procedures such as dental veneers, teeth whitening, tooth implants, etc. Having a perfect smile can build your self-confidence too. The results may surpass your expectations.

Invisible braces / Clear AlignersBack to services list

Sick of unattractive wired/bracket braces? Invisible braces may come to your rescue as an alternative to it. Straight teeth and a revitalized smile may no longer need an unattractive procedure. Enhancing self-esteem and physical confidence, invisible braces offer an aesthetic and barely visible alternative to conventional wire/bracket braces. The clear aligners are manufactured using advanced computer technology that predicts tooth movement, making it possible for the removable orthodontic appliance to gradually straighten teeth.

Invisible braces are designed for adults and older teenagers but are not recommended when baby teeth remain. Children and younger teenagers faced with orthodontic problems will require traditional metal braces with brackets/wires on the front of the teeth. However, we will determine if you can use invisible braces or not. The clear aligner treatment was designed primarily for adults due to the need for absolute and rigid cooperation. The trays are worn 22 hours per day and should not be forgotten or lost.

ImplantsBack to services list

A dental implant is a metal, screw-like post that replaces the root of a missing tooth surgically in your jawbone. Implants are replacements for damaged or missing teeth. In this process an artificial tooth (crown) is placed on an extension of the post (abutment) on the dental implant, which gives you the look of a real tooth.
Because the titanium in the implants fuses with your jawbone, the implants won’t slip, make noise or cause bone damage the way fixed bridgework or dentures might. And the materials can’t decay like your own teeth that support regular bridgework can.

If you want good treatment, courtesy, professionalism, reasonable cost, excellent service and a whole lot more, look no further.

I really cannot recommend Dr Rachna Fernandes and everyone that makes The Smile Factory what it is HIGHLY enough. I only went to The Smile Factory to get an idea of the treatment I would need and the cost. I decided within a few minutes of talking with Dr Rachna that she would be the ONLY one who would treat me and I have not been disappointed.

I will be visiting Dr Rachna Fernandes again at the end of this year to complete my treatment.
